Full Text

The Accommodation between Spain and Portugal, is
not more advanc'd, than when Don Lewis d'Acunha
first commenc'd his Negotiation ; it seems rather farther
off: Notwithstanding the Penetration of that great Mini-
ster, he has been able to discover nothing more than that
his most Christian Majesty really is altogether in the In-
terest of the King of Spain. His Excellency has at yet
had no Audience of the King, and all his Representations
have been made to the Ministers only, so that his Portu-
guese Majesty is very desirous to transfer his Negotia-
tions to London, which the Queen of Spain will by no
means comply with. Upon the whole, we leave the
Publick to judge what present Probability there is of a
Reconciliation between those Two Courts.
