Full Text

Another K. N. Falsehood.

A friend in Camden County writes us that certain dark-lanterns have started the report in that County that Gov. Bragg is a member of the Know Nothing organization. One of these dark-lanterns has stated that "the Governor of the State has long since been initiated into the Know Nothing ranks, and all the intelligent, influential Democrats were fast coming over." This falsehood, our correspondent writes us, had influenced some half a dozen Democrats to connect themselves with the Order; but they have since all come out but one, and he "affirms he will vote for Dr. Shaw."

Our friend appeals to us to contradict the report in relation to Gov. Bragg; and we hereby do so in the most positive terms. Gov. Bragg is among the last men in the country who would have any connection with such an organization; and the statement that he ever joined it, is a deliberate falsehood.
