DELIVERING BODY BLOWS TO NAZI WAR MACHINE
Germany is receiving a series of terrific blows on the east and west fronts from which she is showing no signs of recovery and each blow now is aimed at and draining her reserve powers in men and equipment.
Striking events of the last week on the western front reveal Hitler's inability to produce the added ounce of strength to come back. There has been an abandonment of material in tremendous quantities. It does not require an expert in war strategy or logistics to see that this can not go on long.
But even more significant is the disastrous necessity of abandoning large numbers of troops in order to screen and protect the inner fortress the Germans so long have boasted will be attack-proof. Even that fortress now is receiving blows from the air that rapidly are reducing it to a state of collapse.
On the east the Russians are following a line of strategy that is leading to a sudden, terrific thrust that will cave in the entire eastern side of the fortress and at the same time weld an arc about the very center of the reich that will bar any final stand in the southern part of the country.
The knock-out punch, can not long be fended. It will be a double punch.
