We hear there is lately formed at Oneida, one of the five confederate Nations, a church of Christ consisting of 17 members, under the pastoral care of the Rev. Mr. SAMUEL KIRTLAND, Missionary to the Indians: Numbers more being awakened out of their heathenism, and offering to join themselves to the church, since the first communication of the holy ordinance of the Lord's supper, March 5, 1769. There is a considerable Prospect of the Gospel's being spread among those nations; and it is hoped they will not be forgotten in the prayers of all that wish well to, and desire the enlargement of the Redeemer's kingdom.
