Examining Board
Dr. R. E. Taylor has returned
from Goldsboro, where he attended
the annual meeting of the
North Carolina Veterinary Medical
association, which before adjourn-
ment voted to meet next
year at Wrightsville Beach.
Dr. Taylor had special work on
hand this year as president of the
examining board to pass on those
desiring to practice in North Caro-
line. He says the requirements of
the veterinarian are growing higher
and that some of the veterinary
colleges require four years’ work
with a foundation of one year in
previous college work, while others
require two years’ college work
before entrance, after which five
years veterinary college work is
required. He says the profession
is rapidly growing out of the
"horse doctor" idea of the profes-
sion. He stated that one of the
speakers before the convention
had a hospital for pet animals in
a western city valued at $150,000.
