White's Dairy handed Sears Store a 18-13 defeat in last night's YMCA Older Boys' Softball World Series.
Sears led 13-11 going into the final inning, but the White's club smashed in seven tallies to walk off with the contest.
The lineups were as follows: Whites Dairy - Harry Barnhill, first base; Robert Wells, third base; Frank Ricks, catcher; Von der Leith, pitcher; William Hansley, second base. For Sears Roebuck - Charles Kennedy, first base; Lyn Batson, pitcher; Vic Batson, catcher; By Rackley, left field; Roy McClellan, second base.
This Softball league, an indoor affair, operates every Monday night for the next seven Mondays.
The winners receive champion "Y" shirts.
