Men's Hebrew Association for their members and guests?

The social and financial success of these popular evenings at the "Y" simply must be told. If, after this story is called to your attention, you fail to come and take pleasure and delight at the Wednesday night affairs, which start again Wednesday, June 19th, you will have only yourself to ask, "Why?"

Supper Time, 6:30

On entering the Y. M. H. A. next door to The Jewish Center, you are at once charmed by the homey atmosphere of the well-laid long tables, and the cheery welcome of the happy and busy members or their wives seating and serving the earliest comers.

That precious sense of at last belonging to something you always longed for is at once brought home to you. An orderly lot of people whose faces are all familiar, informally seated around the tables, with bright, expectant and welcoming smiles on their eager faces.

The keen delight to the senses in the anticipation of good food is practically universal, and when one realizes that it is prepared especially for us with love and generosity and the "know what is wanted" sensibility is so evident, the natural response to your appetite is really something to crow about afterwards. When the director, of whom you will learn more in the course of this story, sees the happy eager faces, she gets a true satisfaction out of all her efforts. She and her

All. Each week a different variety is served, but you are delighted at the surprises. Sometimes, you will find cold salad dishes and cold meats, and all the beer you want to have with it, or hot dishes such as spaghetti and meat balls, artistically arranged on handsome platters; or such succulent dishes as cheese blintzes made of dough so thin and crisp and delicately browned to the right tenderness, and the cheese creamy as cream itself, fresh sour cream and borscht and new potatoes, fresh fish caught and gifted to us by our worthy fishermen members, and cooked as you would do it yourself: fried spring chicken, and all the trimmings; there is now green corn and sweet butter, and fresh strawberries and cream, and these folks have been mighty generous with these delicacies, believe us; now comes peaches, cantaloupe and watermelon soon in quantities, new pickles, large meaty tomatoes, celery and all the tasty salad vegetables you've always drooled about and sometimes wondered if you could find the right person to "fix 'em up" for you and the wife and some guests.

There is good pumpernickel, and cream cheese and lox, or bagel if you like, hot coffee or tea or soft drinks and ice cold beer whenever you want it. Whenever you come, each Wednesday is a new surprise supper, and if anyone can go away hungry from these affairs, it's because they came too late for the second or third time served around.
