The Senate have at length passed the resolution, by more than the constitutional majority, proposing to the States to amend the Constitution of the United States so as to create an uniform mode (by Districts) of electing Electors of President and Vice President of the United States--ayes 29--noes 11.
-What its fate may be in the other House is uncertain.
Mr. Barbour's resolution, proposing an amendment of the Constitution to prevent the number of Members of the House of Representatives from exceeding 200, was postponed indefinitely-Ayes 22-Noes 11.
The House refused to consider the resolution from the Senate to fix a time for the adjournment of the present Session; the first Monday in April-
