May. 17. Yesterday the joyful News arrived, that the Rio de Janeiro Fleet, consisting of two Men of War, and nineteen Merchant Ships, were safely arrived at Lisbon, having on board nineteen Millions of Cruzadoes, besides Diamonds, and other valuable Effects. There is also Advice, that Don Antonio, the King of Portugal's Brother, was so ill when the last Ship came away, that his Life was despair'd of.

Particulars of the Cargo brought in the Rio Fleet which arrived here the 14th of May last, consisting of 19 Merchant Ships and 2 Men of War, being viz.

For the King.
Pounds, Marks, Octavoes, Grains.
In unwrought Gold, 9912 pounds 3 marks 6 octavoes 70 grains.
In Money, 286,883 Cruadoes, 177 Reis.

For the Merchants.
Pounds, Marks, Octavoes, Grains.
In Gold Dust, 11337 pounds 6 marks 6 octavoes 48 grains.
In Bars of Gold, 786 pounds 1 mark 0 octavoes.
In wrought Ditto, 61 pounds 1 mark 3 octavoes 55 grains.
Elephants Teeth, Whalebone, Brazil Wood, Planks, and In coined Money, 1270 Chests of Sugar, 8180 Hides in the Hair, besides 12,452,422 Cruadoes, 394 Reis.

Don Antonio, the King of Portugal's Brother, was so ill that his life was despaired of when the last ship came away.
