Worcester, Feb. 21—Michael Strogopety, 25, of Springfield, who, it is charged, was the driver of the truck which crashed into the automobile of Rev. Francis Remy, a curate in St. Mary's church, Leicester, on October 31 last, causing the priest's death, was sentenced to one year in the house of correction in superior criminal court following his conviction by a jury on a charge of operating an automobile so as to endanger lives and safety. The sentence was the same as imposed in the lower court from which the defendant appealed. Strogopety was the driver of an automobile truck of the Ferguson Fast Freight company of Springfield. The defense claimed there was no mismanagement in the operation of the truck.
