Country Home is
Destroyed By Fire

The country home of J. D. Kirkland in the Colston section of the county, was completely destroyed by fire Thursday afternoon, entailing a large loss on the family. Mr. Kirkland had been to Denmark to sell some surplus poultry at the poultry sale, and on returning somewhat late for dinner Mrs. Kirkland started a fire in the stove to cook dinner.

A few minutes later the fire was seen on the roof, and is thought to have caught from the stove flue. The fire burned rapidly, and only a small part of the household goods could be saved.

For the present Mr. Kirkland and family are living with R. F. Kirkland and family in the same neighborhood.
