Probe of Hospital
Costs Demanded

A congressional investigation of hospital charges for room, care and drugs was demanded by the executive board of the Woodworkers at a meeting in Portland, Oregon.

In a resolution introduced by President Burk Christianson of the IWA Northwest District Council, the board charged the rates are based on what the traffic will bear.

"The accelerated trend in higher costs is creating a serious financial burden on working men and women and their families everywhere," the resolution declared. "It also seriously affects the adequacy of union health insurance plans."
