And so Police Have Mystery! Sylvester M. Moore, 211 Kenilworth St., Detroit, gave Officer C. P. Knapp of city police another opportunity at 3:50 Sunday morning to exercise his literary talents in reporting his police activities. Officer Knapp is noted, with great mirth, among his fellow officers for his interesting reports And Moore's arrest is his latest. Knapp's report on the blotter today says, "Sylvester Matthews Moore (if that is his name) has a registration card giving his description as 5 ft. 8 inches, weight 150 pounds, brown eyes, black hair negro, complexion dark brown. "Now Sylvester is about as much negro as a Chinaman appears to be. He is 5 feet 6 inches and weighs 135 pounds and appears to be a white man or youth. "He is wearing an Army uniform with the buttons removed and claims to have been discharged from the air corps due to being run over by a tank. He has a fourth grade school education and how he got in the air division is a mystery to me, especially when he claims he was in a fox hole and stuck his head out when a tank was passing over. Looks like he was training to be a ground mole instead of a flyer and he also claims he's on his way to Florida, "This fellow don't just click right. He is either a screwball or a deserter and has gotten hold of some other person's identification I am going to turn him over to Chief Patch for a going over." Patrolman Knapp is giving mental analysis to the stranger's answers to his questions, and if he finds out that they are facetious, he is planning proper action, Moore is being held for investigation.
