GOING SOME THESE DAYS

(From Sunday's Daily.)

Advices from the Pensacola flying field of the government relate an aerial episode which may prove serious to one of the army aviators named Willis, who while descending from a height of about 5,500 feet collided with Elwell McGowan, said to be from this section of the state. They were playing tag, it is stated, and both were flying close to each other exchanging salutations by throwing small missiles made of paper at each other. The machine of Willis suddenly became unmanageable and in volplaning to the ground hit a sand bank with terrific force nose on. None of his bones were broken, but it is believed he is internally injured. McGowan it is stated followed hoisting engineer work in several camps of this section, first enlisting at San Diego in the aerial corps.
