She is old and crippled, and not
abounding in this world's goods, and
the writing is very shaky, but the letter
is full of gladness. On Thanksgiving,
she says, she gave thanks that she had a
daughter who cheerfully waits on her,
many friends who are good to her, and
that she has the use of her eyes so that
she can read the TRIBUNE and learn of
the good things being done for women.
The thankful spirit always brings a
blessing both on its possessor and the
world. "To him that hath shall be
given," and this means to him who
realizes what he has and appreciates it
shall be given more. So blessings on
you, cheery old friend, and one of these
may be the knowledge that whenever I
come to your name on the list it makes
a warmth in the heart for the tokens of
goodwill you have given.
