A Fatal Accident

Last Thursday afternoon about five o'clock Mrs. Jemima Jenkins was the victim of an accident which resulted fatally. The exact cause is not known, but neighbors being alarmed by smoke issuing from her residence rushed in and found Mrs. Jenkins lying helpless near a small heating stove which was over-turned, with her clothes on fire.

Water was thrown on her and blankets were used, the flames being finally smothered though with great difficulty.

Mrs. Jenkins was so badly burned that after suffering nearly all night she passed away about four o'clock Friday morning. -Guttenberg Press.
