NEW OFFICER ADDED TO MILL CITY FORCE

Travis Bailey Jr., 4505 Fourth Ave. S., is patrolling Minneapolis streets these days as one of the newest policemen on the force.

Mr. Bailey started his official duties Monday after completing training. He was accepted on the police force January 11.

The new member of "Minneapolis' finest" attended William Penn College in Iowa and the University of Minnesota, and has a legal background.

He and his wife, Lorrayne, are the parents of six children, Timothy, Travis III, Rebecca, Jan, Edward and Travette.

The family came to Minneapolis from Iowa 12 years ago.

When asked how he liked his new job Officer Bailey said it was the fulfillment of a long-time ambition.

"I intend to be the type of policeman that will be a credit to the force and the community," he said.
