Walter Edwards, foreman of the coal chutes, met with what might have been a serious accident Monday. While in the act of stopping some cars on the elevated track that runs out from the west end of the chutes, he slipped on the ice, and to save himself from falling, he jumped to the ground, a distance of about fifteen feet, alighting on his feet. On account of the ground being frozen, the effects were more serious than they would otherwise have been, and his feet are considerably bruised and swollen and it will be some time before he will be able to get around.-Green River Star.
