They write from Paris, that a French Officer there, going to visit a Woman, whose Husband was in the Country, tho' before Marriage he had receiv'd some Favours from her, yet she then rejected his Offers ; he persisting in his Amour, and using indecent Freedom, so provoked her, that she took up a Knife to stab him, in avoiding which, one of his Fingers was cut; he thereupon forced the Knife from her, and stabb'd her in several Places, so that she died on the Spot. He was immediately seiz'd by the Guard, and carried to Prison.
