Norfolk, Va., Nov. 3.-Republican
State committee concedes Virginia to
Bryan by 15,000, but claim a gain of
one Republican congressional.

Richmond, Va., Nov. 3.-Returns
from 15 out of 100 counties in
Virginia
indicate
substantial
but
reduced
majorities
for
Bryan
The
vote
in Richmond city. Bryan 4,127.
Taft 1,145.

KANSAS.
Topeka, Nov.
3.-Kansas. Incomplete
returns from 18 counties indi-
cate that Taft will carry the state
by 20,000

MICHIGAN
Detroit, Nov.
3.-First
scattering
returns from the state indicate Taft
carried the state by a large majority
while Hemans, Democratic candidate
for governor is running much ahead
of his ticket
The Republican state committee
claims Michigan by over 30,000 for
Taft
In the returns available up to 9
o'clock. Hemans Democrat for gov-
ernor has almost double the vote of
Warner (Republican) state ticket.

sota indicate that Taft's plurality in
the state will run 20,000 or more

Des Moines, Nov. 3.-The first five
precincts of Des Moines give Taft 1,
883. Bryan 906. Same in 1904. Roose-
velt 1826 Parker 274

State For Taft.
Des Moines, Iowa, Nov. 3.-Meager
returns from the state outside of
Des Moines indicate that Taft has
carried Iowa by 10,000 to 15,000. The
entire Republican state ticket
is
elected. Indications are that Cum-
mins has defeated Lacey for the sen-
torship.

NEBRASKA
Omaha, Neb. Nov. 3.-Thirty pre-
cinets out of 51 in Omaha give Taft
6,992. Bryan 6,217 South Omaha
complete. Taft 195 Bryan 150

3.-Bryan carried his precinct heavily
106 to 32 for Taft

telegram from John E. Klab of Grand

visory committee received at 9 o'clock
Indications are that Bryan has car-
ried the state. but the vote is close

claims that Taft has carried Nebras-
ka by 12,000

New Haven, Conn. Nov. 3.-Taft's
plurality in Connecticut will exceed
5000. Lilies Republican, for gov-
ernor has 15,000 plurality The Re-
publicans carry the complete state
ticket. and all of the Republican con-
gressmen are re-elected

NEW JERSEY.
Newark, N. J. Nov. 3.-The Repub-
lican state committee claims the
state for Taft by a sweeping ma-
jorlty Governor Fort is also claimed
by the Republicans to have a victory.
The Democratic committee claims
the state for Bryan but gives no fig-
ures.

Fifty-eight districts out of 1104 in
New Jersey outside of Newark. Taft

Chairman Franklin Murphy says
Taft will have a greater plurality in
New Jersey than Roosevelt had four
years ago

WEST VIRGINIA.
Wheeling, W. Va. Nov.
3.-Early
returns. incomplete show Demo-
cratic gains. but not as yet in suffi-
ient volume to overturn the Repub-
lican majority of 31,000 for Roosevelt
four years ago. The Republicans
claim the state for Taft by a large
majority the entire state ticket and
all five congressmen. The Demo-
crats declare the returns are not yet
sufficient in volume to justify mak-
Ing claims either way though they
expect confidence of carrying the
state

Indianapolis, Nov. 3.-Sixty elec-
tion precincts out of 3,215 in Indiana.

One hundred and twenty precincts
out of 1,615 in Indiana. for governor.
Watson, Republican. 15,585. Mar-
shall, Democrat. 16074 Same pre-

Two hundred and twenty four pre-
cincts out of 3215 in the state give
Taft 28,148 Bryan 26,785. The same

At 10 o'clock tonight indications
are that Taft carried Indiana by 30,
000 Thomas R. Marshall, Democratic
candidate for governor. was probab-
ly elected by a small plurality.
In the
seventh district Congressman
Over-
street was probably defeated

IN OHIO.
Cincinnati, Nov. 3.-Taft cast bal-
lot No. 11 at 1:11 this afternoon at
precinct 5 Second ward. the polling
place being in a plumbing shop. It
required three minutes for Taft to
cast his ballot after going into the
booth. While in the voting place
and while voting he was the object
of a decidedly curious crowd of men
women and children
