Fatal Accident With Airplane.
International Falls Echo: The community was shocked yesterday evening when the airplane driven by Lieut. Hitt, in plain view of many people who were watching the flight, crashed to earth in the pulp yard of the M. & O. Paper company. Theo. Fossos of Fort Frances, one of the passengers, sustained a fractured skull and died soon after the accident. Berdine, the eldest son of Mr. Fossos, was seriously injured, while Lieut. Hitt's injuries are painful but not serious. Engine trouble was the cause of the accident, but Lieut. Hitt believes he would have been able to land in safety had his passengers remained calm and not interfered with the mechanism of the machine.
