As there are many Persons of all Ranks that frequently pass their Evenings at Cards, purely for Amusement, and without desiring to enrich themselves at the Expence of their Neighbours, it is recommended to their Consideration, Whether the Card Money, which in the End will be found all that they play for, might not be sufficient, under a proper Direction, to discharge all the imprison'd Debtors that are poor Objects of Compassion? By which their Diversions might be rendered not only innocent but laudable, and what is now very properly called Killing of Time, converted into restoring Life to distressed Families.
