Mrs. Dorothy Neal, chairman of the Kindergarten Department of the John Hope School was unanimously elected teacher of the year.
Mrs. Neal has been a member of John Hope School for five years. Along with her classroom responsibilities she works as chairman of the welfare committee, co-ordinator of the Kiddie-Rama, chairman of the grades, and generally considered the person on the faculty to whom you carry your problems.
Mrs. Neal is a member of the Liberty Baptist Church, serving as Superintendent of the Church School and is a faithful member of the Pastor's Guild.
Mrs. Neal is a member of the AKA sorority, Jack and Jill, Inc., Y. W. C. A., a Den Mother and is furnishing leadership in other organizations.
Mrs. Neal is a graduate of Spelman College, received her Masters Degree from Atlanta University. She formerly headed the summer nursery school at Atlanta University, also at Jackson College.
Mrs. Neal is the mother of three children and her husband, J. Neal, is one of Atlanta's most progressive businessmen.
The selection of Mrs. Neal was in keeping with the Teacher of the Year program. Much success to her!
