Savannah, January 27.
LATEST FROM ENGLAND.
The brig Cora, Captain Joseph Kitchen, arrived at this port yesterday in 38 days from Liverpool—Bringing London papers to the 15th of December. These papers contain Paris dates to the 19th of December—they are filled with the treaty and conventions relative to the peace concluded between France and the Allies, and the proceedings of the trial of Marshal Ney, and M. D Lavalette. Sentence was pronounced against the former by the court, and put into execution on the next day.
We have given in this evening's paper a minute account of his subsequent conduct to the period of his death, which he met with great firmness.
On the day of Ney's execution, the duke of Richelieu, in the king's name, proposed a law of amnesty. By this law, the king's ordinance of the 24th July is to be executed relative to all individuals comprised in the 1st article of it. Those comprised in the 2d article are to quit France in 2 months after the law.
It appears by the Paris papers that the treaty is very unpopular. "All exclaim against it."
A Liverpool price current of the 20th Dec. has been put in our hands by a friend. The following are the quotations of cotton:
Cotton, Upland 1s 3d a 1s 4d
N. Orleans 1s 9d
Tennessee 1s 4d a 1s 6d
S. C. Island
Stained do. 8d a 10d
