ANCHORAGE, (Special): - Sam Foss, Iliamna Lake fur trader is saving all his furs for the Anchorage Fur Rendezvous. It is likely that Mr. Foss will handle the bulk of the Ilianma country furs this season as his trading post in Pedro Bay is growing rapidly. He hopes to install a short wave radio sending and receiving set at Pedro Bay, Late disastrous fires in that vicinity in which two persons were burned to death and a third may not live have accented the need for such a station in that area.
ANCHORAGE (Special) John Schwegler, Fairbanks fur buyer. has announced his intentions to attend the 1939 Anchorage Fur Rendezvous, Feb. 19 to 21. He indicates that prices will be about the same as last year on some skins, with greater demand for blue fox. muskrats, mink, and lynx because the market has been cleaned out of those particular furs.
