PANAMA CITY (RP) — Jamieson To Accept With the Panama track team composed mostly of exiled anti-American may have the opportunity of witnessing the boys in action if the local sport authorities accept the invitation of the American Amateur Athletic Union to the United States to take part in the sports carnival to be held in June for the Panamerican Exposition slated for Dallas, Texas. A team of Panamanian athletes has been invited. The invitation received last week and will be accepted, according to Col. Hogarty white coach of the Panama track and field team in training for the Olympic games to stage early next year. The invitation from the AAU forwarded through Sultan Ferris.
It would be a fine thing for the Panama team to be delivered Coach Hogarty is of the belief they can make good in Blackford is running now there would have a hard time beating in the 200 meters. Agard would be greatly benefited by the trip also the coach supplemented. If he goes up the States and see those fellows running the 800 meters in less than two minutes, he would come back here a far better runner I feel that he can make better time in the 800 meter but, you see, he hasn't got the right kind of competition here. In other words he's not pressed hard enough.
Both Beckford and Agard are Negroes and are considered Panama's outstanding track runners. Thrice has Beckford represented Panama outside the country.
