The Woman in Black.

A sensation was created in the city yesterday by the appearance of a woman on our streets dressed in a black suit of broadcloth (male attire) and who made it her specialty to visit the different restaurants and saloons in search of a truant lover. She was rather boyish looking in appearance, had a sweetly charming face, wore a Dexter cloth cap, business coat and cavalry boots. She stepped wonderfully well, only slightly pigeon-toed, looked the perfect picture of masculine beauty, but had an eye of brilliant brown that shot occasional glances of fierce determination to do or die.

We have learned a part of her sad history. It is only the same old story of unrequited love and jealous revenge. She seeks her betrayer, and concealed in her bosom she carries a deadly weapon, which she promises to only use when petitions and prayers will fail.
