From correct information from Vermont, it appears that Stephen R. Bradley is elected federal Senator to succeed Mr. Paine,--Mr. Bradley had 16 votes more than Mr. Chamberlain, the federal candidate.

Israel Smith is appointed Chief Justice in the room of E Woodbridge.

Extract of a letter received at Burlington, (Vermont) from a gentleman at Newbury.

"You may rely with safety that the House of Assembly is a Democratic one.

"There are three new Counsellors on that side of the question, viz. Noah Chittenden, John White and, Beriah Loomis.

"Mr. Marsh is Speaker, there having been only two votes against him. This is a proof of Democratic moderation.

"No changes in Chittenden county, except Mr. Buel in the room of. Mr. Law, as side Judge. The principal changes are in Addison county. Strong and Thompson are left out, and Chipman and Dibble placed in their room-Chipman left out and Slade put in his room as Sheriff, by only a majority of two.

"The election of a clerk to the house hung heavy. It went twice round without the appearance of a choice, on which old Roe, spoke fully in favor of all the Candidates, as men of undoubted integrity, and of abilities equal to a fulfilment of all the duties, but declared, that under these circumstances, he would give his vote to Mr. Elliot, having been assured that, like himself he was an inflexible democrat. Mr. Elliot got the election

"I believe this will be an important session. An Address to the President will undoubtedly be brought forward."
