Debating "THE GOVERNMENT."
The straight Temperance men have been debating and canvassing President Grant's drinking habits rather severely for the past month. And they have cooked the case up to the point that no real Temperance man can vote for him. That his intemperate habits are notorious to all who frequent the White House, and that he kept away from the Capital on purpose to cover up this weakness. And yet, his backers have the audacity to State that B. Gratz Brown, the Democratic nominee for Vice President, drinks. That a hypocrite always possesses more impudence than the Devil himself, has been verified a million of times. We are told that "the religious press" is almost a unit for Grant.—Well; According to genuine loyal authorities, he needs reforming and we hope that agency, "the press," will succeed, because all others have failed. according to the same authority. Anything to make a good citizen out of him, because he has been the worst President ever elected.
