FLINT - The Flint Branch of the NAACP is again staging its Annual Banquet.
The Program Committee (Mrs. Ailene R. Butler, Chairman), and the Social Committee (Mrs. Shirley Foster, Chairman), has planned the Annual Banquet in such a manner to bring to Flint those people with experience in various fields that might help enlighten some of our problems.
This year the NAACP invited Mr. Coleman Young as guest speaker. Mr. Young is known for the outstanding position he took on Con. Con., and the enlightening information that he gave the public. He was candidate for the State Legislature in the Primary, but missed the nomination by about 4 votes, which as a result called for a recount. Mr. Young represents the type of political work being done today to advance Negro representation in office, and a positive program for Negro advancement.
The Banquet is being held at the YMCA, on Friday, September 28, at 6:30 p.m. Reservations should be in by Tuesday Sept. 25. Please call SU. 5-2011, CE. 3-2817 for reservations.
Dr. Allen Loving of the Flint Branch of the University of Michigan, who just recently returned from a two year mission in Africa, will be master of ceremonies for the Banquet.
