Ladies and Gentlemen: "I am not going to make a long speech at the close of this show which has resulted so successfully. I thank you most sincerely for your attendance. You probably think I got it up on purpose to make money. Well, I did, but that was not all. I got it up to show some folks who said there would be no New England babies at this exhibition, and that it would be a failure, that I understood my business as a showman better than they did. The codfish aristocracy said it would not go down in Boston, and the old fogy newspapers, of which I am happy to say there are but few, predicted a failure. I predicted that one hundred thousand persons would come to this beautiful show, and I am happy to say that there have been one hundred and three thousand, which is a pretty close prediction. This vast number of people have endorsed the beauty and utility of the exhibition. I thank you again for your attendance and bid you good night."
