Gibraltar, Dec. 1.

Upon the suggestion of the Council of Regency, the Cortes have voted 80,000 men to augment the army, and 10,000 more for the exclusive purpose of reinforcing the troops in the isle of Leon; the reverend Father Jayme Villanueva, has been appointed Editor, and Messrs. Company, Creys and Argüellas, revisers of the Cortes Gazette.

It has also been resolved, that there were not sufficient grounds for bringing to trial the Editors of the Conciso, who, as mentioned in our last, were charged with having held up one of the deputies to ridicule.

Catalonia papers have been received to the third of November, every one of which contains accounts of some glorious actions or other in the different parts of the province. We particularly notice the intercepting of a large convoy of 400 mules on the 24th September, between Baltea & Gundeza, by D. Bernardo Byrras, lieutenant of the Volunteers of Arragon; the capture of 5000 head of cattle, and quantity of corn, on the 5th of October, near Algas, by the same enterprising officer, the defeat of a superior body of French troops by Brigadier Baron de Eroles; on the 21st, in the environs of Llado; and, lastly, the intrepid conduct of the Commandant of the line of the Llobregat, D. Jose Obispo, who, having received the Decree of the 25th of September last, directing the new oath of fidelity to be taken according to the formule prescribed by the Cortes, marched the whole of his division to within a short distance of Barcelona, and after securing the guard of La Cruz Cubierta, ordered the oath to be taken by every corps under his orders—the impressive ceremony concluded with loud and general cries of long live the king! and the country forever!
