By a gentleman who arrived last Saturday in the Flag from Providence, we learn that the conduct of the rebels who were assembled at Point Judith, exceeded all the descriptions of unfeeling wreckers.
Destitute of every principle of honour, they were not content with plundering the stores of the ship but Captain Furneaux, and his officers were stripped of what little baggage they were able to get on shore.
One of the members of their Upper House, was detected going off with a bag filled with the precious oil. The thoughts of approaching winter and the bleakness of the point, entirely chilled those delicate feelings which might have adorned him in the Senate.
Upwards of 60 of the Syren's People have come in the Flag to be exchanged.
These honest fellows, as soon as the flag left the town of Providence, gave three huzzas for the King, and congratulated each other on the happy prospect of returning to the Service of their Country:
Captain Furneaux, we hear, is to be sent to Lebanon.
