Full Text
the pride on a boy's face as he brings in wood he cut himself, and the briar scratch on his forehead that he pretends is not there. It is the help from expert hands that keeps his first shaky tent from falling, and the songs sung around the fire by the troop of tired but happy Scouts who together built it. Above all, it is a memory that the man holds close long after he is grown. A campout is a symbol of the responsibility and brotherhood built by the Boy Scouts of America. We salute them all... Cubs, Scouts, Explorers, and their dedicated leaders... in this their 50th year of service for God and country.
