Who Must Get a License, Says Secretary of State McCormick.
LEXINGTON, Ky., Sept. 1.—Prof. Frank Fanning, the "magnetic healer," who hails from the Lone Star state, was notified Tuesday by Dr. J. M. McCormick, secretary of the state board of health, that he is engaged in the practice of medicine in violation of the laws of this state. Dr. McCormick's message further says: "I am instructed by the board to inclose you a blank application and to warn you to at once desist from practice until you have complied with the provisions of the statute."
Fanning denies that he is violating a state law, claiming that he is not "practicing medicine." He says he will not comply with the provisions of the statute and expects to be arrested.
