Drowned In Washington.

Mrs. Clarence Pitzer received the sad information recently of the death of her brother, Henry Ingleking, which occurred near Spokane, Washington, on May 20th. With two other companions Mr. Ingleking was working on a bridge about twenty miles from Spokane, when an accident occurred which resulted in two of the party being drowned.

The three men were doing some repair work on a bridge over the Spokane river, which was located just above the Spokane falls, being stationed in a small boat which was anchored to the bridge by a rope. It appears that the rope was old and rotten, and the boat broke loose from its moorings as a result. The workmen were not supplied with oars, so were compelled to jump from the boat, and only one succeeded in saving his life which he done by clinging to some timbers attached to the bridge supports. Mr. Ingleking and the other workman attempted to swim to shore, but the current was too swift and they were carried over the falls to their death.

Mr. Ingleking's body was not found until just a few days ago, when it was discovered in the river at a distance of seven miles below the place of the accident.
