Gus Moser Plans to Buy; Two of Majority Stock Owners Awaited
PORTLAND, Oregon, Sept. 30 (AP) - Gus A. Moser, attorney and secretary for the Portland Baseball Club, Inc., said at a meeting of the Multnomah Amateur Athletic club Monday night the Portland baseball club was for sale and would be sold during the winter months.
"I have verbal option to purchase the club," Moser said, "and I have nearly half of the amount needed to complete the deal. Nothing can be done until John Shibe, who with Tom Turner, owns the majority of the stock, arrives in Portland."
Moser said he knew of two California groups interested in the purchase of the club franchise.
He said when the club is sold some arrangement will have to be made with the stadium here because of an ordinance which affects a street that runs through the middle of the present ball park. The ordinance provides the baseball club shall build a $250,000 stadium on the present site by May, 1931.
Moser did not say who were the groups interested in the purchase of the club franchise.
