Salem, May 27.

We are indebted to Capt. West, of the ship George, arrived yesterday, for a file of Calcutta papers to the 3d of February.

The Calcutta Journal of Jan. 24, contains an official account of the capture of the town of Ras-ul-Khyma, the rendezvous of the pirates in the Persian Gulf, by the British expedition under Major Gen. Keir, after a resistance of six days. The loss of British was about 50 killed and wounded—among the former Major Wolesworth. The Arabs effected a retreat to the neighboring hills and date groves. One of the Chiefs after the retreat, returned and gave himself up to the British.
