Westbound Passenger Vehicle Crashed Into Rear End of a Truck

A westbound bus of the Northland Greyhound Transportation Co. crashed into the rear end of truck, that was being towed to a garage at Delano last Monday eve. The accident happened about 6:30, a short distance from Delano.

Herman Johnson, an employee of the Delano Motor Sales, who was assisting in bringing the disabled truck to the garage, suffered painful injuries.

A truck left the pavement near Pioneer Creek, and owing to the soft shoulder, it tipped over. A call to Delano brought William Ell, Edmund Dick and Herman Johnson to the scene. They finally succeeded in getting the truck onto the pavement and started for Delano.

The westbound bus crashed into the rear end of the truck with a terrific impact. The force of the blow drove the truck into the rear end of the tow car. Herman Johnson was steering the disabled truck, and was thrown against the windshield suffering numerous bad cuts.

The impact put the bus out of commission, as the heavy radiator shell was broken in two and driven back against the engine. None of the bus passengers were injured.

The damaged bus was towed back to Minneapolis for repairs by a service truck of the bus company.
