BOSTON, August 18.

The London Universal Register, of the 14th June, has the following article:

"Seest thou a man diligent in business (said Solomon) he shall stand before princes and great men," &c. A-la-mode John Adams, the American plenipo, formerly, as is said, a disinterested composer of differences, under the name of an attorney; but now laying his head together with cabinet ministers, and holding familiar tete-a-tetes for the publick's wellfare. What exquisitely fine feelings must have pervaded royal and noble breasts, on seeing a quondam declared rebel in an elevated independent station! but the time is now come, when the wolf shall dwell with the lamb, when the calf and the lion, and the fatling, shall herd together. It is whispered, that the celebrated Dr. Price is political father confessor to the new plenipo, and has already given him absolution."
