Ed Brown, mayor of Edinburg and president of the Valley Centennial Exhibit corporation, is one of the hottest devotees of the Texas centennial exposition to be found on the border. And he is just as warm about the Valley's $25,000 show at Dallas, opening ten weeks hence, on which he says a safe estimated return will be $50,000.
Brown visited Dallas recently to inspect the site of the Valley display and was almost overwhelmed with the ideal location.
"Why," he says, "you can stand on the Valley location and bust the windows out of every other major building on the exposition grounds."
Brown is not so much concerned with stoning windows, however, as he is with raising the remaining $10,000 needed to make the Valley's $25,000 display fund complete.
Some $15,000 is already certain.
