--City Directory.--
Mr. Spencer has left with us a copy of his Davenport City Directory, and after a very hurried examination, we can say that it reflects credit to the author, and will be of interest and benefit to our citizens. To strangers coming to the city it will be very convenient for reference, and those abroad can gather from it a better idea of our capacities and resources than from any other publication.

The Directory besides containing names, advertisements, &c., includes also a variety of interesting statistical information regarding the growth and prosperity of our city, and also of the State at large. Mr. Spencer intends publishing another Directory next year when he expects to chronicle many improvements upon the present time.

We wish him success, and that all his anticipations of our future prosperity may be abundantly realized. He will commence delivering the Directory to-day to subscribers, and copies can be purchased at Rhawn's and at the Iowa Book Rooms.
