Abolitionism. It seems that the State Convention at Brookfield have made their nominations. CHARLES K. WILLIAMS, for governor—very well—should have been willing, yes, glad, to have voted for him last year, had he been fairly in nomination. Whether we shall do so this year or not, depends upon circumstances hereafter to be known. EDWARD D. BARBER for Lieut. Governor. Hem! Read on. HARRY HALE for Treasurer—would make a very good one: guess we shan't vote for him though.

Now in all sober earnest, to what does all this amount. Kind reader, we will tell you in a few words. It does not liberate the slave, for we have none in Vermont, but—but—it may make E. D. Barber, Lieut. Governor. That is the object—and to divide the Whigs. Don't believe they will succeed, however.
