There are some men who will say that a business man ought not to meddle in politics any more than another thing just now in Arkansas. It is that their business and let politics alone. If politics needs business, what they ought to run business men of all kinds get busy and see if some business cannot be injected into politics.
Machine rule, boss control and inefficiency would soon ruin the state and the country if business men do not take a hand and give the politicians a jolt now and then.
About the best service the business men, farmers, mechanics, blacksmiths, mill men, merchants, etc. can render the state during the next two weeks is to carefully select from among the mass of candidates those men whose character and ability fit them for the responsibilities of public office. In any case vote against the machine candidates.
We believe in business in politics.
