Flight Training

Near for Students

After several days' delay because of Civil Aeronautics Administration technical requirements, preparations were reported almost completed today for the start of official flight training for the 17 young men and women who won scholarships in the second Quincy groundschool training course.

R. G. Wentle, CAA regional inspector, spent Wednesday and today in Quincy checking and approving training arrangements of the Thompson brothers at the municipal airport, who also trained the seven scholarship pupils from the first groundschool course; all of whom have passed their flying tests.

In addition to the 17 who won school, two young women and two men not eligible for scholarships passed their examinations and became eligible for a private flight instruction course which, if passed, will entitle them to pilot's licenses. In the list of these published last week, the name of Miss Justine Sanders, of Chattahoochee, was inadvertently omitted. She had one of the highest grades in the class.
