The Rt. Rev. H. St. George Tucker, retired Presiding Bishop of the Protestant Episcopal Church in the United States and Bishop of Virginia will receive the John Virginia State Chamber of Commerce Distinguished Service Award. Chamber President West Faulkner, of Glasgow, has set April 17 as the date it will be formally presented.
Bishop Tucker, 78, will be the first clergyman to be honored. The award is made annually to an outstanding Virginian for distinguished service to the Commonwealth. He will receive the scroll at the Chamber's World Affairs dinner during the group annual meeting at the Hotel Chamberlin, Old Point Comfort April 16-17.
