Full Text

PHILADELPHIA, Oct 15, 1831.

Colonel Reeside has returned from Washington; having renewed his contracts, with the Post Office Department, for four years.

This will be acceptable news to the public generally; & to none more so than our editorial brethren, whose comfort and interests depend so much on the speedy and certain transmission of the mails.

We shall shortly have a new proof of Col Reeside's activity and enterprise. In addition to the mail now carried between this city and New York, he intends, within a few days, to establish another, to start every morning and to arrive in twelve hours. Steamboats are to be connected with this line, as soon as practicable in the spring of next year.
