Full Text

A. M. Tatum of Basalt came down last Wednesday and applied at the local forestry office for a grazing permit. Mr. Tatum has just returned from Telluride and was not at the meeting of stockmen held at Basalt last Wednesday but said had he been at home he would not be bound by the action of those who are refusing to pay the government grazing fee. Mr. Tatum paid the fee last year and was well satisfied with his experience. He says if the fee should be declared illegal he has confidence in Uncle Sam to believe that his share will be refunded, and in the meantime he has the satisfaction of knowing that no one can point to him as a trespasser.
