Full Text

There have lively elopements in Kentucky, and if one is not attended by the musical crack of a pistol instead of the orthodox wedding march, it is thought to be of no consequence. The latest elopement was sensational enough to 'please the most fastidious.' The best man got drunk and shot an inoffensive colored man, and the groom was fined for carrying concealed weapons and jailed for ten days. Meantime the interesting bride will have to spend her time in weeping until her husband has satisfied the law. The case of the best man, however, is more serious, as he was arrested and jailed without bail.
