Full Text
We find the following in one of our exchanges: A strange accident, nearly causing the death of a young man, occurred recently in Paris in a house in the Rue Geoffrey Marie. The young man was talking in the kitchen to a woman servant of the house when snatching up a sharp-pointed knife he directed it to his breast, saying, "When a man wants to kill himself, he ought to strike in this spot." At the same moment a gust of wind blew the door with violence against the young man's arm, and drove the knife into his breast. The blood spurted out in abundance, and the young man fainted. Medical aid being, however, immediately given, the blood was staunched, and at the last date he was slowly recovering.
